For pilots already certified on a specific Airbus, Boeing, or ATR aircraft type and aiming to transition to another variant within the same family, Simaero offers tailored and condensed training courses.
These are referred to as Cross Crew Qualification (CCQ) and Common Type Rating (CTR) Course for Airbus, and Difference Course for Boeing, ATR, and Dash fleets.

Qualification (CCQ) Courses

Cross Crew Qualification (CCQ) is an Airbus term referring to a shorter type rating transition course for pilots already qualified on one Airbus family aircraft model seeking to transition to a different variant within the same family.
Simaero provides the following Airbus transitioning courses:
A320 to A330 – EASA Program
A320 to A340 – EASA Program
A330 to A340 – EASA Program
A340 to A330 – EASA Program

Theoretical Training

5 days of e-learning courses, self-paced and conducted remotely through our e-learning platform, Wisdom, available 24/7.
Half a day of on-site course with one of our instructors.

Practical Training

3×4 hours Full-Flight Simulator sessions
1×4 hours Skill test session

Airbus Common Type Rating (CTR)
Courses

This Common Type Rating (CTR) course allows pilots who are already qualified on Airbus 330 aircraft type to operate the Airbus 350 type, and vice versa, after completing a streamlined differences training, rather than undergoing a full initial type rating course. It is based on the high degree of cockpit and operational commonality between certain Airbus aircraft families.

A330 to A350 – EASA Program
A350 to A330 – EASA Program

2 days of CBT e-learning, on the CPAT Platform.
2 days of e-learning courses, self-paced and conducted remotely through our e-learning.

Practical Training

4×4 hours full-flight simulator sessions.
No skill test is needed.

Boeing Difference Courses

Difference course is a Boeing term referring to a shorter type rating transition course for pilots already qualified on one Boeing aircraft type seeking to transition to a different variant.
Simaero provides the following Airbus transitioning courses:
B737 CL <> B737 NG – EASA Program
B757 <> B767 – EASA Program
B777 <> B787 – EASA Program
The synopsis and duration of the difference course vary depending on the aircraft variant to which you are transitioning.
