Frequently Asked Questions

Do Simaero courses cover accommodation and transportation?

Our course prices do not cover accommodation and transportation, except for some limited offers. Above this, Simaero secured preferential rates with partners to assist you. Please reach out to our local team for details about the deals available at each training center.

Can Simaero assist me with my visa application?

Once the deposit for your training course is received, Simaero will provide an official visa invitation for your application and a checklist with documents to prepare for the country of training. You can schedule an appointment at an embassy or visa center. It is recommended to plan your appointment at least one month before departure, taking into consideration the varying processing times. If you encounter issues with the embassy or the visa center, please advise our team to contact the relevant office directly to ease the visa issuance.

When do type rating training courses start?

The commencement dates for our type rating training courses are adaptable. Once you express intent, if you don’t have a partner, we will match you with one, and determine the most suitable dates based on our next available slots.

Does Simaero offer base training?

Our courses do not include base training, but our team will happily provide guidance and information on available options.

What should I do if my type rating is expired?

You need to undergo a refresher type rating course. Contact our team with your license and medical documents ready. Based on your situation, we will offer you a customized program proposal along with pricing details.

How long is a type rating course?

The duration of an initial type rating training course varies depending on the aircraft type and the specific requirements set by each Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). It may also be influenced by the inclusion of optional modules such as multi-crew cooperation (MCC), extended diversion time operations (EDTO), or low visibility operations (LVO).

Do I need a training partner?

Our courses necessitate a complete flight crew. If you require a partner, Simaero can pair you with another pilot to share the cost of the training. Please note that when pairing two pilots, the training is contingent upon both pilots' payment, availability dates, and confirmation of visas.

Does a type rating training course expire?

Your type rating is valid for 12 months from your certification date. To maintain its validity, you must undergo an annual type rating revalidation skill test before the expiration date. If you miss the deadline, a refresher type rating course is required. The duration of which depends on your situation and the time lapse with the expiration date. Please note that to obtain a valid type rating on an EASA license, you must complete your type rating training course using one of these two options: either undertake a zero-flight time training (ZFTT) course within 21 days after the skill test or undergo base training within 6 months following the skill test.
