SIMAERO WINS NEW RELOCATION CONTRACT FOR A FULL FLIGHT SIMULATOR IN CHINA

SIMAERO has been selected by Chongqing Yuxiang Aviation Flight Training for the relocation of the Boeing 737NG Full Flight Simulator in China, from Xinjiang Urumqi to Zhengzhou city. The Contract is signed for an execution in q2 of 2020. SIMAERO will organize all stages of relocation from Baseline Check in to Certification Support.

SIMAERO, a company registered in France and specialising in simulator operations, engineering services and pilot training, has already gained more than 15 years’ experience various simulator relocation projects.

According to Julien Champs, SIMAERO Engineering Director, the typical relocation project starts with a site survey at the removal premises prior to commencement of the service. A simulator baseline check, including a test flight and simulator audit, is then conducted to record the status of the simulator. After the baseline check, a team of SIMAERO engineers dismantles and packs the simulator in a manner suitable for transportation, which can be organized by road or sea according to the destination of the receiving center.

Packing is a delicate phase of the relocation project. Since many parts are very sensitive to humidity, temperature changes, vibration and similar transportation effects the parts are packed using appropriate methods to ensure the preservation of the equipment throughout the shipping process. This includes double heat shrink wrapping of the cockpit and cabin. The visual mirror and back projection screen are fully packed. Desiccant is provided for all packs as necessary.

SIMAERO supervises the transportation of the simulator to the receiving premises where it is unloaded, re-assembled, re-commissioned and prepared for a new certification.  Following the installation, SIMAERO organizes a re-run of the baseline check and Qualification Test Guides performance including manual ones together with a pilot provided by the customer.

The final stage of the simulator relocation is its certification support including assistance of documentation preparation for certifying authority.

“SIMAERO’s Engineering Services are one of our 3 core services besides simulator operations and pilots training. SIMAERO has a dedicated team based in China to address this market in which we have been working for several years. This contract is an important milestone to continue to develop our presence in the growing Chinese market, and more generally be present in all continents of the world”, – explained Nicolas Mouté, CEO of SIMAERO.
