Simaero, a leading global provider of flight simulator training to airlines, training organizations, and commercial pilots, announces the opening of its new simulator training center in Changsha, Hunan Province. This center commences operations this March 2024, marking a significant milestone in Simaero’s expansion in China. This program will represent overtime an investment exceeding US$ 70 million.
The First Aviation Training Center in Hunan Province
Situated near Changsha Huanghua International Airport, one of China’s largest airports, the Simaero Training Center, operating under the name Hunan Hongyi, stands as the first aviation training center in the Hunan Province. Its strategic location in one of China’s most populous provinces ensures seamless accessibility for both local and international airlines, addressing their growing demands for pilot training.
The Changsha Training Center is designed to host six full-flight simulators, with spacious briefing and debriefing rooms, classrooms, and a comfortable pilot rest area. The center is planned to be fully operational in March 2024.
The first full-flight simulator has been installed in the center and will be operating upon its opening. The device is a cutting-edge A320 neo/ceo simulator manufactured by China Simulation Sciences Co., Ltd. (CSS). This brand-new simulator promises pilots a highly realistic and immersive training experience. Recently certified by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), the simulator will also apply for certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in the coming months.

The Changsha Training Center is the outcome of a dynamic partnership between Simaero and Hunan Hongyi Flight Training Co., Ltd. led by its Chairman, Mr. FU Jianhong. This ambitious project emphasizes their shared vision of providing exceptional training opportunities in Hunan Province, ensuring a strong foundation for success.
Advancing Full-flight Simulator Operations and Pilot Training in China
This first training center represents a significant step forward in Simaero’s commitment to developing full-flight simulator operations and pilot training in China. Upon commencement, the center will provide dry-lease pilot training services to both local and international airlines. Looking ahead, Simaero aims to establish its own Approved Training Organization (ATO), certified by the CAAC, to offer an extensive range of pilot training programs.

ABOUT HUNAN HONGYI FLIGHT TRAINING CO.
Hunan Hongyi Flight Training Co., Ltd. (“Hunan Hongyi” for short), registered and established in Hunan Province in 2022, is a modern aviation training service enterprise. Hunan Hongyi is located in Area B of the Changsha Huanghua Free Zone, about a 10-minute drive from Changsha Huanghua International Airport, a strategic location with very easy access. In early 2024, Hunan Hongyi started to operate its first A320 neo/ceo Level D full-motion flight simulator. As a key introduction project of the local government, Hunan Hongyi’s training center has a total planned use area of 10,000 square meters, and the company’s total investment scale exceeds 500 million yuan.
