Simaero and Cannes Aviation Academy Join Forces to Deliver End-to-End Airline Pilot Training Solutions

Paris, June 2026

Simaero and Cannes Aviation Academy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding establishing a framework to offer airlines a comprehensive pilot training pathway, from initial training to aircraft type qualification.

By combining Cannes Aviation Academy’s Flight School with integrated ATPL training expertise and Simaearo’s airline-level type rating and advanced training capabilities, the two companies will be able to design MPL, cadet and integrated ATPL cadet program with type rating tailored to airlines’ operational, commercial, and regulatory requirements.

A Strategic Cooperation for Airline-Focused Pilot Training

Under the agreement, Simaero and Cannes Aviation Academy intend to collaborate on future airline-focused training opportunities, including airline pilot cadet programs, MPL programs, integrated ATPL programs with type rating, and similar pilot training initiatives.

The two organizations will now be able to coordinate on future airline requests for proposals related to ATP integrated cadet program, MPL program, and other airline cadet programs, with the objective of presenting a unified and competitive training solution that ensures a more progressive and coherent pathway from initial training to airline operations.

“This collaboration reflects our ambition to build strong partnerships to support airlines across their entire pilot training ecosystem, from cadet selection to operations-ready first officers and experienced captains,” said Nicolas Mouté, CEO of Simaero. “By joining forces with Cannes Aviation Academy, we can offer airlines and future pilots a seamless training pathway that connects high-quality ab initio training with Simaero’s full-flight simulator and type rating expertise.”

Supporting Airlines in Building a Consistent and Qualified Pilot Pipeline

The partnership is designed to support airlines seeking to build or strengthen their pilot pipeline with programs that are consistent, scalable, and aligned with their fleet needs, operating environment, and recruitment objectives. For airlines, this opens new possibilities to structure long-term pilot sourcing strategies while ensuring continuity between ab initio training and airline-standard qualification.

Through this cooperation, airlines will be able to rely on a single, coordinated training solution covering the full journey from cadet selection and initial training to airline preparation, type rating, and advanced simulator-based training.

The framework also provides clear regulatory responsibilities and accountability. Cannes Aviation Academy will retain operational and regulatory control over training delivered under its ATO approval, including student admission, commercial pilot training, instrument rating training, and multi-engine training, in accordance with applicable EASA and DGAC regulations. Simaero will deliver type rating and advanced airline training while ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and airline standards.

“This Memorandum of Understanding opens the door to a structured collaboration between two complementary aviation training specialists,” added Nicolas Vivancos, CEO of Cannes Aviation Academy. “Together, we can provide airlines with an end-to-end training solution that supports the development of the next generation of professional pilots.”
